REDCATT 101FHWX8 10" Subwoofer 8 Ohm
Â
The REDCATT 101FHWX8 is a high-efficiency subwoofer engineered for strong low-frequency performance and reliable output under demanding conditions. With a resonant frequency of 25 Hz, 87 dB sensitivity, and 8 Ohm impedance, it is suitable for vented or sealed designs where controlled bass extension is required.
Â
Its cone assembly combines a fiber-reinforced paper cone with an NBR single-roll rubber surround and a Nomex spider with stitched tinsel wires. This construction gives the woofer the mechanical stability needed for high-power operation, while the 50.8 mm copper voice coil on an aluminum former supports robust thermal performance.
Â
The ferrite motor system is designed around a consistent magnetic flux gap and includes two aluminum shorting rings to reduce flux modulation and distortion. Optimized air ventilation, additional back plate space, and an 8 mm T-plate help improve cooling and support the driver’s 200 W AES, 400 W continuous, and 800 W peak power ratings.
Â
For bass reflex applications, recommended alignments include 40 liters tuned to 29 Hz for high output and strong mid-bass, 50 liters tuned to 26 Hz for a balanced general-purpose response, or 50 liters tuned to 24 Hz for extended low-frequency reach. The driver features a 238 mm baffle cutout, 257 mm bolt circle, eight mounting holes, 123 mm mounting depth, and a net weight of 6 kg, making it a serious audio component for custom loudspeaker projects.
