The SICA 6,5 C 1,5 CP is a compact coaxial driver intended for HiFi and studio monitor speakers. Its LF section uses a paper cone, rubber surround with Double Asymmetric Rolls Technology and a ferrite magnet circuit, while the HF section is built around a treated silk dome tweeter with a neodymium magnet circuit.
With a frequency range of 55 Hz to 18,000 Hz, this coaxial woofer covers a wide bandwidth from a single mounting position. The LF unit is specified at 91.0 dB sensitivity, while the HF unit reaches 93.9 dB, giving the driver a strong basis for efficient two-way coaxial speaker designs.
The dual 8 ohm construction keeps the LF and HF sections electrically separate for use with an appropriate two-way crossover. The HF section has a recommended minimum crossover frequency of 3.0 kHz with a 12 dB/oct or higher high-pass filter. A dedicated 2-way crossover option for this driver uses a 2.5 kHz crossover frequency with 18 dB/oct high-pass and 12 dB/oct low-pass slopes.
Installation is straightforward thanks to the aluminium die-cast basket, 143 mm baffle cutout, 79.5 mm total depth and 1.7 kg net weight. For vented cabinet designs, SICA suggests a 17 liter internal volume tuned to 50 Hz, making this driver suitable for compact monitor-style loudspeaker projects.
