The REDCATT 6FHM is a high-efficiency bass-mid woofer built around a 3-layer cone construction. Its 1k carbon fiber skins are bonded to a Nomex honeycomb core, creating a lightweight and rigid diaphragm that helps push cone break-up modes higher in frequency. This makes the driver well suited for compact systems that need strong mid-bass output and clean midrange behaviour.

The motor system uses a ferrite magnet and FEM-optimized geometry to reduce harmonic distortion. With 89.01 dB sensitivity, 8 Ohm impedance and a 33 mm voice coil on a Kapton former, this woofer combines efficient output with controlled excursion. Power handling is rated at 40 W AES, 80 W continuous and 160 W peak.

Mechanical details support reliable installation in custom audio components and loudspeaker builds. The driver uses an aluminum basket, NBR rubber surround, Nomex spider and hard-anodized reinforced aluminum dust cap. Mounting dimensions include a 181.5 mm overall diameter, 151 mm baffle cutout, 169.5 mm bolt circle, six mounting holes and 81.7 mm mounting depth.

For enclosure design, the 6FHM works well in bass reflex alignments. REDCATT recommends 10 liters tuned to 38 Hz for a balanced general-purpose response, with an approximate -3 dB point of 35 Hz and a 28 Hz high-pass filter. Alternative alignments include 8 liters tuned to 41 Hz for higher output and strong mid-bass, or 10 liters tuned to 34 Hz for extended low-frequency performance with suitable high-pass protection.
