The miniDSP Tide16 is the brand€™s first immersive audio platform, engineered to meet the demands of modern Dolby Atmos and DTS:X systems while maintaining uncompromising stereo performance. At its core is a Quad Core ARM processor running at 1.8 GHz, providing 32-bit floating point processing at a 48 kHz sample rate. This architecture delivers high computational power with minimal heat and silent passive cooling, making the unit suitable for dedicated theaters and critical listening environments.
For HDMI-based systems, the Tide16 features a 3 x 1 HDMI 2.0 switch with eARC and ARC support, allowing seamless integration with UHD sources and eARC-capable televisions. It can decode up to 16 channels depending on content and speaker layout, and supports advanced upmixing technologies such as Dolby Atmos Upmixer and DTS Neural:X. Flexible bass management supports complex configurations with multiple subwoofers, all processed through miniDSP€™s comprehensive DSP toolbox.
Stereo and digital connectivity are equally robust. The Tide16 offers USB audio streaming, Bluetooth with LDAC and aptX HD support, two coaxial S/PDIF inputs, two optical inputs, and high-quality analog inputs on both RCA and XLR. Internally, audiophile-grade ESS DACs and carefully designed analog stages deliver an exceptionally low noise floor, with signal-to-noise ratios up to 125 dB and THD+N as low as -118 dB, preserving detail and dynamics for critical listening.
All 16 output channels are fully balanced on Neutrik XLR connectors, making the Tide16 ideal for active loudspeaker systems, multi-way speakers and professional studio monitoring setups. Control is handled through a color OLED front panel, IR remote, web-based interface or the miniDSP Device Console software for Windows and macOS.
