Dayton Audio MA1260 Multi-Zone 12 Channel Amplifier
The MA1260 is the multi-zone amplification solution from our home audio amplifier category. It shares its appearance and functionality with the slightly less potent class-AB sibling; the Dayton Audio MA1240a. The MA1260 relies on class-D technology for a more efficient but also more powerful output. The power supply uses two toroidal transformers that are followed by an individual rectification and buffer stage for each stereo zone.
The in- and output interface creates extended flexibility when it comes to source and speaker connections. Each zone uses two channels that can be switched for individual operation or for bridged operation if more power is required. Each channel has access to three inputs; an individual input and two bus inputs. The bus inputs can provide a single signal to all channels at once. If you wish to connect multiple devices the trigger input, trigger output and two bus outputs come in handy!
The enclosure comes with feet for free standing applications and (removable) ears for 19” audio rack applications.
Q: Can I use this amp with an audio streamer like Sonos connect, Apple Airport or Chromecast?
A: The MA1260 accepts line-level sources on the individual and bus inputs. You can even use multiple or different streamers for different zones. If you are interested in building your own (multi-zone) streamer, take a look at our products from Arylic.
Q: Which input should I use for bridge operation?
A: In bridge mode, the amplifier will only use the left input.
