The Amplimo 1N1729 is designed for compact valve amplifier power supplies, delivering a maximum power rating of 22 VA. Its primary side consists of 2 x 115 V windings, allowing operation on 230 V mains when connected in series or 115 V mains when connected in parallel. The transformer is suitable for both 50 Hz and 60 Hz operation.
On the secondary side, the 1N1729 provides a 125 V winding rated at 30 mA and two separate 6.3 V windings rated at 0.75 A each. These outputs make it well suited to tube amplifier builds where high-voltage supply and heater windings are required. All stated voltages apply under full ohmic load, and regulation is specified at 8.5%.
The toroidal construction keeps the transformer compact, with a diameter of 70 mm and a height of 32 mm. The unit weighs 0.44 kg without mounting materials, and all solid leads are approximately 200 mm long for practical internal wiring. It is supplied with one metal washer, two neoprene washers and an M5 x 40 bolt with nut, making it a practical choice for amplifier accessories and DIY valve amplifier assemblies.
For safe integration into electromechanics projects, the 1N1729 carries KEMA KEUR, ENEC, CE and UL/CSA approvals and is RoHS compliant. Time-lag fuses are required on the primary side: 0.16 A, 5 x 20 mm IEC127 high I²t for 230 V mains, or 0.315 A, 5 x 20 mm IEC127 high I²t for 115 V mains. Each secondary winding also requires additional protection.
