Peerless by Tymphany
Peerless by Tymphany has been developing high-quality loudspeaker drivers for decades, used in both DIY projects and professional audio designs. The brand is especially known for its strong balance between price, performance and reliability. You work with drivers that deliver predictable behaviour, consistent measurements and an overall solid foundation for a wide range of speaker designs.
Within the range you will find everything from midwoofers and tweeters to powerful subwoofers. Peerless also offers multiple series, each with its own focus and application. This makes it easy to choose the right driver for your specific build, whether you are working on a compact hi-fi speaker or a high-performance subwoofer system. Did you know you can test your speaker directly with our SpeakerSim?
HDS Series (High Definition Series)
The HDS series is one of the most widely used lines in the Peerless range. These drivers are known for their clean and controlled sound reproduction and strong midrange performance.
You typically use HDS drivers in compact hi-fi speakers and 2-way or 3-way designs where detail and neutrality are important. The series offers excellent value for money and provides a solid foundation for serious audio projects.
SDS Series (Standard Driver Series)
The SDS series focuses on accessibility and simplicity. These drivers deliver solid performance at a competitive price and are often chosen for entry-level projects or replacement applications.
You recognise the SDS series by its practical character: no over-engineering, just reliable performance that works well in simple 2-way systems or OEM applications. This makes it an ideal starting point within the Peerless range.
XXLS Series (Xpanded Extra Long Stroke)
The XXLS series is all about powerful and controlled bass reproduction. These subwoofer drivers are designed with long excursion capability, allowing them to reproduce low frequencies with precision and minimal distortion.
You typically use XXLS drivers in subwoofer designs for home cinema or high-performance hi-fi systems. They deliver deep, tight bass that remains controlled even at higher listening levels.
XLS Series
The XLS series is the predecessor of the XXLS line and still holds a strong reputation within the DIY community. These drivers are known for their linear response and solid build quality.
You will mostly find XLS drivers in older but still widely used subwoofer designs. In practice, the series remains popular thanks to its predictable performance and reliable character.
XT Series (tweeters)
The XT series consists of soft dome tweeters known for their wide dispersion and natural high-frequency response. They integrate smoothly into 2-way systems.
You often combine XT tweeters with HDS woofers to create a balanced and detailed sound. The series is popular in hi-fi designs where clarity and spaciousness are key.
Fullrange / TC / FR Series
This category includes compact full-range drivers designed for minimalistic speaker builds. These units reproduce the full frequency spectrum from a single driver, enabling simple and efficient designs.
You typically use these series in small desktop speakers or experimental DIY projects where simplicity and coherence are essential.
